Con­vey­or technology for the pack­ag­ing industry 

A major indus­try cur­rent­ly under­go­ing growth is pack­ag­ing. It involves the inter­ac­tion of all the process­es such as mate­ri­als sci­ence, pro­duc­tion and trans­port logis­tics. This mar­ket is essen­tial for the stor­age and trans­port of all goods and thus forms an impor­tant link between pro­duc­tion and the consumer.

Our cus­tomer is a mid-sized com­pa­ny and man­u­fac­tures pack­ag­ing machines, which are used sub­se­quent­ly to process stretch films. This raw mate­r­i­al stretch film, which is wound on huge bails and used lat­er for wrap­ping oth­er goods, has to be trans­port­ed on a con­vey­or sys­tem. On this trans­port sys­tem the rollers were replaced with our rollers, thus avoid­ing a com­plete replace­ment of the sys­tem. Our cus­tomer also placed spe­cial empha­sis on rollers of high-qual­i­ty mate­ri­als and a spec­i­fied con­cen­tric­i­ty tol­er­ance, which should not exceed a max­i­mum value.

The mate­r­i­al that runs over the rollers is very sen­si­tive and means the rollers’ anti­sta­t­ic prop­er­ties are essen­tial. The first choice for this con­tract was rollers made of stain­less steel with a ground tube and plas­tic bot­toms. This design ensures gen­tle han­dling of the sen­si­tive film to be con­veyed at high speed. The bear­ing is made of stain­less steel pre­ci­sion bear­ings with a dou­ble-sided 2RS seal and addi­tion­al axi­al secur­ing of the rollers. The axles had a spec­i­fied length tolerance.

Spe­cial fea­tures of the con­vey­or belt for packaging

The trans­port equip­ment of this pack­ag­ing machine was fit­ted for this project with rollers from our stan­dard range, which meant the finan­cial out­lay was kept at a very mod­er­ate lev­el. After coor­di­na­tion and expla­na­tion of the prob­lem by the tech­ni­cal depart­ment, the project was com­plet­ed imme­di­ate­ly and promptly.

ROS Rol­len­Tech­nik does not car­ry out any main­te­nance work on sup­plied and oper­a­tional rollers, as we believe they should be regard­ed as parts sub­ject to wear and tear. In return for this, we offer our cus­tomers con­tracts to ensure deliv­er­ies of rollers at short notice in the request­ed amounts to guar­an­tee ongo­ing pro­duc­tion. As a result, there are no pro­duc­tion down­times, as defec­tive rollers can be replaced at short notice.

Con­vey­or belts for pack­ag­ing machines must some­times be able to car­ry out move­ments along curved sec­tions in addi­tion to lin­ear move­ments. To achieved curve-shaped move­ments, con­i­cal rollers are used. With these, it is pos­si­ble to pass through dif­fer­ent sized curve radii with­in cer­tain limits.

With our exten­sive stock of stan­dard rollers, we can also deal with and respond flex­i­bly to spe­cif­ic cus­tomer require­ments. This flex­i­bil­i­ty is also char­ac­ter­ized by var­i­ous axle designs, which can be used as option­al extras.

Con­clu­sion

Our cus­tomers wel­come and appre­ci­ate the high qual­i­ty of our rollers. This is not least due to the rec­og­niz­able increase in effi­cien­cy and per­for­mance achieved at our cus­tomers’ pro­duc­tion facil­i­ties when they use our prod­ucts. The ease of installing our flex­i­bly designed rollers with their many design ver­sions enables exist­ing con­vey­or sys­tems to con­tin­ue to be used in many cas­es. It is often suf­fi­cient to equip an exist­ing con­vey­or sys­tem with our prod­ucts, which in addi­tion reduces con­ver­sion costs con­sid­er­ably. The ver­sa­til­i­ty of our rollers also enables increas­es in the flex­i­bil­i­ty of con­vey­or sys­tems to move all kinds of dif­fer­ent prod­ucts, which is becom­ing increas­ing­ly important.

We pro­vide our cus­tomers with per­for­mance to the fullest extent. This includes quot­ing, project man­age­ment, pro­cure­ment, con­tract draft­ing with sched­uled quan­ti­ties and deliv­ery dates. In addi­tion, our coor­di­na­tion of deliv­ery meth­ods with for­ward­ing agents and spe­cial pack­ag­ing ensures we avoid trans­port dam­age and achieve opti­mum order pro­cess­ing. Our cus­tomers there­fore received a com­pre­hen­sive ser­vice from us, which con­tributes to the suc­cess of our pos­i­tive busi­ness relationship.
